One of my key pledges is to listen to you and respond when you contact me. Getting answers, results and explanations for you is a huge part of the role a Councillor fulfills. Below are some testimonials from people who contacted me and what they say about how I responded and assisted them. There are also some from others who know and support me. “Dave Schnider was instrumental when I reached out for information regarding the opening of Eden Oak Park. He went above and beyond to keep me informed with updates and progress reports in the development and planning of this awesome project. Dave sat on the committee for the grand opening and attended the event that brought together over 1000 neighbors”

"We reached out to Dave as we were having considerable drainage problems in our backyard as a result of a city maintained wetlands area located directly behind our property. Once Dave arrived to see the small river of water running through our yard he immediately reached out to the necessary resources to begin evaluating the problem. With him advocating on our behalf, the drainage issue was identified, addressed and resolved. This process involved many meetings with applicable City of Kitchener resources for which Dave attended each one with us to ensure we were all on the same page. A year after the work was completed Dave still continues to follow up with us to ensure that the issue has not re-occurred. Dave listened to, reacted and resolved the issues we brought forth - we thank him considerably for his time and effort in supporting us through the process."

“Mayor Vrbanovic and Councillor Schnider. Thank you so much for making the Morrison Park Math Wall grand opening a special one for me and for everyone attending. I was extremely happy seeing so many people out to welcome Kitchener's first math wall (my swim coaches, my principal, my family, my neighbours, the various city of Kitchener staff who I worked with on the project and City of Kitchener Council support). Thanks again for all your support!”

"For the past 4 years, Dave Schnider has repeatedly demonstrated an exemplary level of passion for his work on Council. He is not only dedicated to listening to his constituents but also working with them. Count on him to respond quickly when needed and to always be approachable. Dave has offered us assistance with a variety of neighbourhood building activities and community safety concerns. He can be counted on to support community and school events and, not surprisingly, is always eager to promote the wonderful things taking place in Ward 2."

Dave has been an avid supporter of the arts and has gone beyond words to take definitive action in fostering partnerships and actively problem-solving; he made a key introduction that has enabled a very productive partnership between The Registry Theatre and the KPL.

"Thank you, Dave, for your unfailing support of the residents of Shantz Lane as we sought changes to reconstruction plans that affected our homes and our lives. Your advice and guidance were invaluable as we worked to find an alternative plan that you and your council colleagues could support. You were there every step of the way as we petitioned members of council to listen to our concerns. And they did! Truly, we could not have done it without you, and we are grateful to you and all members of city council for listening to us."
"I applaud the dedication of Dave Schnider to serve the community. I have known Dave for about 6 years and have seen him contribute towards many initiatives including being the host of the India Canada Association cultural event MELA for the past few years. Trying to establish a community garden at Stanley Park Community Centre gave me the opportunity to work with Dave who was on board from day one with this initiative. His advice, support and enthusiasm he brought to all our meetings was fabulous… I was a sceptic in the beginning thinking he might disappear after a few meetings, but he was tireless and attended all our meetings bringing together the city, the community centre and volunteers to complete the project. I wish him all the best in the upcoming municipal election."

“Knowing that Dave was supporting our view and concerns about the Shantz Lane sidewalk infill project was paramount to our success in convincing the city to reconsider their initial plans and accommodate the neighbourhood’s desire to save trees and protect residential properties. He was always available and his help, advise and support were invaluable. He heard us and stepped up to advocate for us. Dave's a keeper!”

“It is my pleasure to endorse Councillor Dave Schnider for re-election in Ward 2. I had the pleasure to work closely with Dave on behalf of the Chicopee Concerned Neighbours Association on a land development issue in the Chicopee area. Dave did everything he committed to do for us, he guided us through the ins and outs of City Hall and helped to formulate our interactions with Council, Planning Department Staff and organized a number of meetings with all concerned parties. Our issues with the development are on-going and Councillor Schnider continues to be available to provide assistance and direction.”
"Dave has been a pleasure to work with over the past four years! He is community-minded, supportive and responsive. As a Councillor, he has continually responded to and supported our questions, concerns or ideas to his full abilities. His communication, accountability and accessibility makes Dave an outstanding representative. Dave is present in our community and our neighbourhood, always with a huge smile on his face! I look forward to continue working with him to improve our school-community and neighbourhood."

He has been to almost all meetings for the board for the Chicopee Centre and takes a great interest in the goings on of the area. Dave really gets excited when we host Neighbours Day as it is so busy with all the kids and parents from the neighbourhood! Dave is a great help to contact and get answers that affect everyone."

"A while back, my neighbours and I received a notice in the mail about an issue that was going to adversely affect our small court. Although the issue looked like a "done deal" we decided to contact Dave Schnider, our city councillor in hopes that we could stop the decision. Dave promptly responded to our request to meet, listened to our concerns, took them to council and resolved our issue very quickly and to our benefit. We were most happy that Dave responded quickly, kept us in the loop and followed up immediately, both by email and then with an official letter. A very pleasant councillor - citizen exchange!"
"Councillor Schnider was very responsive to our concerns pertaining to the need to renovate the tennis courts at Franklin Public School/Park. He remains a member of our steering committee, participated in meetings related to the funding and design of the infrastructure, and was helpful in identifying and encouraging the right people to come to the table. Our project is funded (Lyle Hallman Foundation) and moving toward completion in 2019. Dave played a valuable role in this project."
Mark Eys, Ph.D./Former Chair of Franklin P.S. Parent Council
“I support re-electing Dave Schnider as Ward 2 Councillor. When I experienced a problem with an unsightly service line as a residential homeowner; Dave could be counted on for a solution. Using his knowledge of bylaws, he facilitated a correction on my behalf. He did this in a more timely and effective manner than I could individually. It is great having a representative like Dave Schnider serving the community!”
"Dave has been a strong voice on Council. I've known Dave since high school. He is passionate in all that he does and was particularly helpful in resolving a ward issue I was faced with. He will only continue to grow in his 2nd term."
"Dave Schnider has worked with us, The Optimist Club of Stanley Park, to ensure local children have the opportunity to play, play safe and enjoy the experience. Dave has helped our T-Ball program secure additional play areas and has always made himself available for our annual bike rodeo and HotDog Day T-Ball celebration. It's a pleasure having Dave involved in our programs."

“This year we experienced a problem with 2 sewage backups at our home. After submitting the applicable costs to the City, their response was not acceptable. We contacted Dave Schnider our councillor to address our concerns. He arrived at our home within an hour of our phone call and proceeded to take steps to find answers to our concerns and remedy the situation. His actions were the deciding factor and since that time the financial issues were resolved and the overall repair of the sewage system is underway. Dave Schnider is a councillor you can depend on, he is one phone call away and will always be an advocate for you at City Hall”

“Having known Dave Schnider for many years, I can say without any hesitation, he is honest, approachable and forthright. Dave not only reflects, but engages in and participates with all aspects of community. Dave’s genuine care and attentiveness to “what matters” is demonstrated on a daily basis. As a member of the Arts and Culture advisory committee for the City of Kitchener, I have witnessed first-hand his enthusiasm, passion and dedication for community in addition to his endless support for a new wellness facility for 1st Responders and their families – Frontline Forward. "Christ the King United Church, offer a Sharing Place the last Thursday of every month where donated clothing, household items etc., are free for our community, also there is a pantry box in front of the church for those in need of food items. Dave Schnider has always been a hands on councillor for the ward 2 community, he gets involved by visiting and talking with people who come to the Sharing Place. As part of his love of community, Dave has added supplies to the Pantry, also he and his family make donations of clothing to the Sharing Place. Having a councillor with a heart is a blessing for our Church and community."
