Centreville Chicopee Community Centre Improvements
The Centreville-Chicopee Community Centre was Kitchener's first Community Centre. It was built in 1980 and additions were made in 1987 and 2001. Outside the Centre is a park, splashpad, playground structure, sports courts, trails and a parking lot. We need to make repairs or replace parts of those outdoor spaces because of their age.
New designs for the outdoor spaces at Centreville-Chicopee Community Centre are being planned. We want to hear from you. Our survey lets you tell us what's important to you, how you use the spaces now, and how you'd like to use them in future.
At this point we're not asking what specific features or amenities to build, that will come in a future survey. To start, we're seeking a general direction to head in to help come up with draft designs that are relevant to you. Once they're ready, you can go over them and give us your input and comments and we'll adjust and adapt things according to your input. Construction on the outdoor spaces is expected to begin in 2023. This will be the first step in revitalizing the entire Community Centre The survey is closed, but you can get updates HERE
We'll connect these upgrades with the improvements happening in Idlewood, Kinzie & Oaten along with the Fergus Green Space. This will give our community with a variety of features across the whole neighborhood. There's a survey on these parks too. It's also now closed but you can get updates HERE
