SCHOOL BOARD ISSUES
A trustee's role is to maintain a focus on student achievement, well-being and equity and to participate in making decisions that benefit the board's entire jurisdiction while representing the interests of their constituents. They help steer individuals experiencing difficulty through the system. They establish the mission, set policies, set the yearly budget and hire and evaluate senior staff. They ensureevery student has the opportunity to succeed regardless of background, identity or personal circumstances. They bring the voice of everyone to the board table.
