I have had the pleasure of working together with Dave in his capacity as City of Kitchener appointee to the board of directors of the Kitchener Waterloo Art Gallery. Dave is an enthusiastic supporter of arts and culture in our community and brings this genuine enthusiasm and excitement to the work of the gallery. Dave is a “roll-up-his sleeves”, “get-things-done” type of guy. Having just completed a process to develop the gallery’s strategic plan for the next 3 years, I have seen first hand the commitment that Dave brought to this important work and I value the fresh ideas and broader-community perspective that Dave brought to the table.”

Dave has worked hard for our Grand River Boulevard community in getting speed limits lowered to 40 kph. He has been a key voice in the application of this limit on our city streets, and he took special interest in our concerns. Dave is quick to respond to emails and phone calls, and it is clear that he is a strong advocate for our ward. We need his voice at city hall.

“Councillor Schnider is a local leader who is truly from the community, and for the community. I have had the pleasure to work with him through the City of Kitchener’s Economic Development Advisory Committee for over one year now, and his commitment to our city is exemplary for any public servant. What always stood out to me was Dave's commitment to local businesses, born and raised in our region, as well as affordable housing for both long time residents and newcomers.”

Dave is a dedicated, hard-working councillor and is very approachable. When I have contacted him on issues, he contacted me promptly and both issues were resolved. If I email a question or leave a voice message, he also replies promptly and will introduce me to someone who can help if he is unable to. Dave is very much into community relations, is very visible and often seen out and about. He also supports small business attending events in the local community to see how he can be of assistance. I commend Dave on his hard work. He should continue with the excellent work he does for us all.

"Christ the King United Church, offer a Sharing Place the last Thursday of every month where donated clothing, household items etc., are free for our community, also there is a pantry box in front of the church for those in need of food items. Dave Schnider has always been a hands on councillor for the ward 2 community, he gets involved by visiting and talking with people who come to the Sharing Place. As part of his love of community, Dave has added supplies to the Pantry, also he and his family make donations of clothing to the Sharing Place. “Dave Schnider was instrumental when I reached out for information regarding the opening of Eden Oak Park. He went above and beyond to keep me informed with updates and progress reports in the development and planning of this awesome project. Dave sat on the committee for the grand opening and attended the event that brought together over 1000 neighbours”

"We reached out to Dave as we were having considerable drainage problems in our backyard as a result of a city maintained wetlands area located directly behind our property. Once Dave arrived to see the small river of water running through our yard he immediately reached out to the necessary resources to begin evaluating the problem. With him advocating on our behalf, the drainage issue was identified, addressed and resolved. This process involved many meetings with applicable City of Kitchener resources for which Dave attended each one with us to ensure we were all on the same page. A year after the work was completed Dave still continues to follow up with us to ensure that the issue has not re-occurred. Dave listened to, reacted and resolved the issues we brought forth - we thank him considerably for his time and effort in supporting us through the process."

“Mayor Vrbanovic and Councillor Schnider. Thank you so much for making the Morrison Park Math Wall grand opening a special one for me and for everyone attending. I was extremely happy seeing so many people out to welcome Kitchener's first math wall (my swim coaches, my principal, my family, my neighbours, the various city of Kitchener staff who I worked with on the project and City of Kitchener Council support). Thanks again for all your support!”

"I applaud the dedication of Dave Schnider to serve the community. I have known Dave for about 6 years and have seen him contribute towards many initiatives including being the host of the India Canada Association cultural event MELA for the past few years. Trying to establish a community garden at Stanley Park Community Centre gave me the opportunity to work with Dave who was on board from day one with this initiative. His advice, support and enthusiasm he brought to all our meetings was fabulous… I was a sceptic in the beginning thinking he might disappear after a few meetings, but he was tireless and attended all our meetings bringing together the city, the community centre and volunteers to complete the project. I wish him all the best in the upcoming municipal election."

"Thank you, Dave, for your unfailing support of the residents of Shantz Lane as we sought changes to reconstruction plans that affected our homes and our lives. Your advice and guidance were invaluable as we worked to find an alternative plan that you and your council colleagues could support. You were there every step of the way as we petitioned members of council to listen to our concerns. And they did! Truly, we could not have done it without you, and we are grateful to you and all members of city council for listening to us."

He was always available and his help, advise and support were invaluable. He heard us and stepped up to advocate for us. Dave's a keeper!”

"A while back, my neighbours and I received a notice in the mail about an issue that was going to adversely affect our small court. Although the issue looked like a "done deal" we decided to contact Dave Schnider, our city councillor in hopes that we could stop the decision. Dave promptly responded to our request to meet, listened to our concerns, took them to council and resolved our issue very quickly and to our benefit. We were most happy that Dave responded quickly, kept us in the loop and followed up immediately, both by email and then with an official letter. A very pleasant councillor - citizen exchange!"

"Councillor Schnider was very responsive to our concerns pertaining to the need to renovate the tennis courts at Franklin Public School/Park. He was a member of our steering committee, participated in meetings related to the funding and design of the infrastructure, and was helpful in identifying and encouraging the right people to come to the table. Our project is funded (Lyle Hallman Foundation) and was completed in 2019. Dave played a valuable role in this project."

“I support re-electing Dave Schnider as Ward 2 Councillor. When I experienced a problem with an unsightly service line as a residential homeowner; Dave could be counted on for a solution. Using his knowledge of bylaws, he facilitated a correction on my behalf. He did this in a more timely and effective manner than I could individually. It is great having a representative like Dave Schnider serving the community!”

“We experienced a problem with 2 sewage backups at our home. After submitting the applicable costs to the City, their response was not acceptable. We contacted Dave Schnider our councillor to address our concerns. He arrived at our home within an hour of our phone call and proceeded to take steps to find answers to our concerns and remedy the situation. His actions were the deciding factor and since that time the financial issues were resolved and the overall repair of the sewage system is underway.
